Dr. Clarence Burnough III

Financial Secretary

Dr. Burnough has served as a teacher in a number of institutions from the 1970’s through 1990’s, then became the principal of J. A. Rogers Academy in Kansas City, Missouri from 1991-1993.  Then in 1993 through 1995 he became Principal of McLain Career Academy High Tulsa, Oklahoma.  From 1995 to 2006 Dr. Burnough served as Assistant Principal at North Clayton High, Riverdale High, North Clayton Middle School.  From 2006 until his retirement in 2011, he served as Coordinator of Transportation with Clayton County Public Schools. Dr. Burnough is a Disabled Veteran, having served in Vietnam 1967- 69 USMC and retired USMC 12/1974.  He has received the following honors and awards: Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Good Conduct, Cross of Gallantry, (3) President Unity Citation, Combat Action, National Defense Service, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 2 Starts, Vietnam Service with Device, US Jump Wings, Excellent Rifle, Pistol 45, Honorable Discharge.  He is a part of the following affiliations:  National Association of Secondary School Principals; Pi Delta Kappa; National Karate Federation; Life Member Omega Psi Phi Fraternity; Life Member Disabled American Veterans; Life Member American Legionnaire; N.A.A.C.P.; The Athletic Congress of U S A; 100 Black Men of America, South Metro Chapter, The President Volunteer Service Award 2013. Burnough received his B.S. in Elementary Education from Drake University, and his M.S. administration and Supervision at NOVA University. He then went on to receive his Doctoral Degree in Mathematics and Teacher Leadership from the University of Miami.
